Javahn Ferguson, Joseph McWilliams fitting in at Southern Lab

When Javahn Ferguson decided he was going to leave Catholic High School for his senior football season, he was looking for something he felt was missing with the Bears — a home.

Joseph McWilliams was looking for a fresh start and a place to grow into the man he always knew he could be after leaving Capitol High when the school decided to become a charter program. Much like Ferguson, he wanted a place to call home.
Southern Lab rebounds with help from online enrollment
School director Ronnie Harrison said the “sky is the limit” on how big the online school could grow, provided he has sufficient staff. He plans to hire a program director to handle the growth. K12 Inc., the for-profit online giant managing the new virtual school, also is adding a new staff member to help Harrison oversee school operations.

Clark Returns Home to Coach Boys Basketball at Southern Lab

“Home is where the heart is” reads like an overused cliché.

But it’s the sentiment that is bringing former Southern Lab standout Devan Clark home to coach boys basketball at his alma mater after eight successful seasons at Northside-Lafayette.
